Plantation-Grown Wood
Our primary raw material is renewable plantation-grown wood, which actively captures carbon dioxide as it grows, helping to reduce atmospheric CO2 levels.
SVLK Certification
All the wood we use is 100% SVLK-certified (Sertifikat Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu), the Indonesian government’s certification ensuring legality and sustainability in forestry.
FSC Certification
A significant portion of our wood is FSC-certified, adhering to the globally recognized gold standard for sustainable forestry practices.
Community Support and Reforestation
For over 20 years, we have supported local reforestation efforts by donating to Perhutani, the government’s forestry management organization. These contributions fund the replanting of teak and mahogany, ensuring the sustainability of the raw materials we rely on.
Efficient Use of Resources
Recycling By-products
We transform wood by-products from furniture production into smaller furniture pieces and accessories, minimizing waste.
Energy from Offcuts
The smallest wood offcuts are recycled as fuel for our wood-drying kilns, maximizing resource efficiency.
Clean Energy Initiatives
In a bold step toward reducing our carbon footprint, we’ve partnered with a leading solar energy provider to install a 1,500m² photovoltaic array on our factory roof. This system generates over 320 Kva of clean energy, supplying approximately 30% of our factory’s electricity needs.
Although current Indonesian regulations limit solar energy production, we are proud to be the first furniture manufacturer in Jepara to embrace this green technology. Our solar panels are designed to perform efficiently even on cloudy days, with only heavy rain impacting performance.
Looking Ahead
This solar installation marks a major milestone in our sustainability journey, showcasing our dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility. As regulations evolve, we aim to expand our solar capacity and further reduce reliance on non-renewable energy.
Kota Jati remains steadfast in its mission to lead the industry in sustainable practices, continually exploring new ways to balance competitiveness with environmental stewardship. Together, we are shaping a greener future.
